Beschreibung
This volume aims to initiate an academic debate over the hitherto much neglected topic of the history of pop. It offers a range of perspectives and methods with which historians can address this topic. The approaches presented here include cultural studies, gender history, history of the body and of consumption as well as sound history, and are discussed in terms of their relevance for contemporary historical research. At the same time the book guides students of historical science in dealing with pop culture in a historically informed manner and offers neighbouring disciplines a historic contextualisation of their theoretical inventory.
