An institutional repository includes digital assets generated by academics, such as administrative documents, course notes, learning objects and conference proceedings. It will provide a window that gives open access to improve the sponsoring institutions visibility and status. This book discusses the growth and development of Institutional Repositories available in BRICS Countries. The relevant data was collected from directory of OpenDOAR. Among the BRICS Countries, 84 Repositories from Brazil, 39 from China, 71 Repositories from India, 22 Repositories from Russia and 29 Repositories from South Africa. Brazil has the highest number of records in their Repositories among BRICS Countries. The authors believe that this book would be a immense valuable literature for the Library and Information Science fraternity.
